Israel Celebrates 68 Years!
Happy 68th birthday, Israel! This past week marked Yom Ha'atzmaut, Israeli independence day. In 68 short years, Israel has turned itself into a marvel of the world, with a vibrant democracy, booming technology and defense sectors, and scores of advancements in science and medicine. What's worse, though, is that its critics claim that it is targeted political critique against Israel. This is just another example of the intertwined nature of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism.
Anti-Semitism and Insecure Jews
Michael Dickson, the Executive Director of StandWithUs Israel, writes about an incident in which he, as a teacher of a Jewish day school, was asked by a student why the other schools in London didn't need security guards like theirs did. This is an important reminder about how anti-Semitism, the "oldest hatred," can affect youth.
